Ever since she was very young, Alex found herself captivated and intrigued by individuals displaying tattoos across their bodies. In 2012 she took the plunge by getting the first ink of her own. This initial tattoo covered self-harm scars and further strengthened her blossoming love and fascination with this enduring expression.

The following year in 2013, Alex began her Tattoo Apprenticeship with Mike Skiver, the owner of Personal Art Studio for over 40 years. This apprenticeship went far beyond simply tattooing and delved deep into the traditions and history of the art form. This included hands on experiences with artwork and artifacts from decades of tattoo history. This education encompassed sanitary and cleanliness practices of every tattoo application. This all focused on creating bold designs that last a lifetime.

In 2018, Alex completed the apprenticeship. This 5-year educational experience propelled her deep into the tattoo world and garnered her numerous tattooing credentials.

-Blood Borne Pathogen Certification

-National OSHA Standards for Tattooists and Piercers

-C.P.R. Certification

-1,800-hour Tattoo Apprenticeship from an APT certified artist 2018.

In 2018, Alex opened her very own shop in the heart of Somerset, PA. This was a modest by appointment only studio that gave her a taste of running her own business. 

​

In 2019, Alex expanded into an even more exceptional studio space in the historical center of Uptown Somerset, PA. This shop also operates by appointment only to ensure a high quality and personalized experience!

​

When embarking on these perennial pieces, Alex’s primary intent is to create a completely customized product that meshes seamlessly with the customers personality, goals, and body. She would rather spend five hours getting one piece just right than rushing through five, mediocre pieces in that same amount of time.

 

Alex does not view this as a money-making endeavor. She chooses to do this to help people express their various intentions through this permanent art form. Tattoos have been a huge part of her world and this is the perfect way to spread the love that she’s found.

Alex's passion for tattooing escalates daily. She plans to continue attending numerous seminars to advance her skill set and add more specialized services.
